On Sunday 5th of May, 2024 the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, His Royal Majesty, OSikiru Kayode Adetona, CFR, held its 90th birthday and 64th coronation anniversary thanksgiving service at the Cathedral Church of Our Saviour, Ita-Olowajoda-Ijasi, Ijebu-Ode, following the Friday Special Jum'at Service at Ijebu-Ode Central Mosque.
Come May 10th, 2024, Awujale will be commissioning a state-of-the-art, School of Governance, at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun state. It will be recalled that Kabiyesi donated a modern building complex for the Institute for Governance Studies at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State during his 89th birthday last year.
On Saturday 11th of May, 2024 is the grand finale of Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, His Royal Majesty, OSikiru Kayodecarnival-like, 90th birthday and 64th coronation reception and the carnival-like party will take place at Ijebu-Ode Stadium.
Oba Adetona’s reign stands as a monumental success, epitomising the ancestral heritage of the Ijebu people. His dedication to governance and education led to the establishment of the Oba Sikiru Adetona School of Governance, a pioneering institution in Sub-Saharan Africa, reflecting his enduring legacy of progress and development.
