APC PRIMARY: SEN JIMOH IBRAHIM HIRES 3 SANS, 5 CONSTITUTIONAL LAWYERS AS HE DRAGS APC TO COURT OVER AIYEDATIWA’S VICTORY

...Seeks Nullification of Ondo Primary

Ondo South Lawmaker in the Senate and a governorship Aspirant in the just concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election in Ondo State, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, PhD, has approached a Federal high court sitting in Abuja to nullify the APC election that produced Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the Party’s Flag Bearer ahead of the State governorship election on November 16, 2024.

It was learnt that the Plaintiff had before now expressed displeasure over the upshot of the election, citing irregularities.

It would also be recalled that Starnews NG had exclusively reported how Senator Jimoh frenetically left the state to the National Headquarters of the ruling party in Abuja with overwhelming evidence against the party’s primary.

Aside from Ibrahim, supporters of other aspirants had trooped to the party’s Secretariat in Akure, the Ondo State capital, calling for outright cancellation of the primary election.

This was even as the National Chairman of the party, Alh. Abdullahi Ganduje had a few weeks ago placated other Aspirants to let the sleeping dog lie.

In the latest development, Senator Ibrahim hired three Seniors Advocate Nigeria (SANs) and five constitutional Lawyers against Governor Aiyedatiwa’s victory.

The defendants are The All Progressives Congress, Mr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Reports have it, that the court is yet to fix a date for a hearing.

More details later.
