Ekiti State University Honors Former Speaker and Federal Commissioner Code of Conduct Bureau, Rt. Hon Abdulsalam Olawale, the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Governor Abiodun Oyebanji, and Senate Majority Leader, Sen Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, among others at the Grand Reception organized for Alumni, Benefactors and Friends in Abuja.
The grand reception, which brought together alumni, benefactors, and friends of the university, aimed to recognize the outstanding achievements and contributions of exemplary personalities who have contributed to the growth of the institution.
Rt. Hon Abdulsalam Olawale, a distinguished alumnus of Ekiti State University, has shown exceptional leadership qualities throughout his illustrious career. As a former Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, his commitment to the development and progress of the state was commendable. His dedication to serving the people and his tireless efforts in advocating for good governance have set him apart as a true role model.
The event which took place at the Rockview Hotel Royale Hall in Abuja on Sunday the 11th of February 2024 was indeed an evening to celebrate special personalities who had not only contributed to the development of their states but also to the development of the institution. The Vice Chancellor of the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, Professor Edward Olanipekun was the chief host.
In appreciating the management of the Institution, Rt. Hon Abdulsalam Taofeek Olawale returned his utmost gratitude to God for his life as he acknowledged the unwavering support of his family and friends for the journey. He also extended his sincere appreciation to the management of Ekiti State University for recognizing his efforts, which have served as an inspiration for him to continue his philanthropic work. He further emphasized the importance of encouraging others to give back to their alma mater and vowed to do even more in the future.
The occasion also celebrated the remarkable achievements of Governor Oyebanji, who has played a pivotal role in the transformation and growth of Ekiti State. With his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to uplifting the lives of the people, he has made significant strides in areas such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, and youth empowerment. The event also recognises other notable personalities, including the Senate Majority Leader, Sen Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, Dr.Tope Fasua, a former Banker, economist of repute and Special adviser to the President, Dr. Vincent Olatunji, among others were equally honoured for their significant contributions to the university and the community at large.
