JUST IN: HOW LATE ALAAFIN’S SON, PRINCE ABDULFATAI DIES ON HIS BROTHER’S SKIMEH BIRTHDAY, A DAY TO HIS BIRTHDAY

A son of the late Alaafin of Oyo, (Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III) Prince Alhaji Adebayo Abdulfatai Adeyemi, fondly called D-Gov, has passed away. Reports said he died in the early hours of today (Friday, December 8) at University College Hospital in Ibadan - a day before his birthday.

The Adeyemi dynasty has been thrown into mourning as the Prince’s death today falls on his younger brother, Prince Akeem Adeyemi (Skimeh)’s 47th birthday.

Late Prince Abdulfatai Adeyemi was said to have been ill for a while.

He was a businessman and politician. In 2019, he contested the Oyo Federal Constituency seat on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party but lost the election to his brother, Prince Akeem Adeyemi, fondly called Skimeh, who was re-elected for a second term. The late Prince was appointed by the state governor, Seyi Makinde, as Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Pension Board in his first term.
