The station which started a few years ago is the newest airwaves station in the sunshine state of Akure, Ondo state capital. The station will be run by veteran broadcaster, Ambassador Segun-Babs Babayemi the General Manager and its team. Segun-Babs is charged with overseeing the operation of the station in Ondo state.
The appointment of Ambassador BABAYEMI SEGUN-BABS has come as surprise to many while some see it as a long-due honour for the veteran who had in the last 3 decades contributed and mentor prominent broadcasters in and out of Ondo state.
The Isaba Ekiti turn broadcaster was born on the 1st of October 1968 to the family of Chief & Chief Mrs BABAYEMI. He is a Prince of Isaba Ekiti in the Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti state. He is the founder / CEO of Ile - Alayo Entertainment and Ile-Alayo Properties and home.
This versatile personality is the President / Founder of the World Peace Seekers International (WPS), a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), which was registered and inaugurated in 2015. places like the UK, RUSSIA, SOUTH AFRICA and most West African Countries were visited on peace missions through his NGO.
He started his career in journalism as a freelance writer with Iwe Iroyin Yoruba of Nigerian Tribune, his column "Akakogbon" was hugely accepted by the numerous reader of the Yoruba leading newspaper in the 90s. He later established his media outlet called SegunBabs Multimedia, where he the published first Indigenous Newspaper in Ondo & Ekiti State titled "IROYIN TO SIRIOOSI" in 2005.
This multi-talented broadcaster cum entertainer was the pioneer and first elected Chairman Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (FIBAN) Ondo State Chapter, the position held onto for 10 years. He was first appointed the Acting Chairman of the association before he was elected twice as the State chairman of the association in Ondo state. In the history of the Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association Segun-Babs is the longest-serving Chairman of FIBAN. Having served for 10 years at the state level, he was elected the National Vice President, of FIBAN during Yemi SONDE's tenure.
Aside from being a broadcaster and On-Air personality, he is also a musician and an actor, he started his career in music over 30 years ago with the likes of Micho Ade Organisation & Wale Thompson. After a few years as a band boy, he founded his group which specialized in classic music tagged "Phyllo Music" with 2 albums to his credit. He has also produced soundtracks for films and station identification jingles for radio and tv stations. He had also been featured in epic movies.
His evergreen Entertainment programme on OSRC Tv over 20 years ago earned him his popular alias Ile-Alayo. ILE ALAYO has fondly called has through his promotion skills taking entertainment to another level in and outside the shores of Nigeria.
Segun-Babs is a product of Gboyega Lawal Broadcasting School Ibadan in the '90s. He also went to Business Education College (BEEC) Lagos for his Advertising certificate. He was honoured with Doctorate Degree by World Communion Celtic Convergence College United Kingdom. His broadcasting history will not be complete without mentioning the late Gbenga Adeboye who tutor him to be who he is today. His philanthropist gesture earned him many awards of excellence both at home and abroad.
Until he was appointed the General Manager of Fresh 102.9 Fm, Akure, he was the Producer / Presenter of Ajaloleru on Crest FM Akure, Ile-Alayo In The Midst on Breeze FM Akure, Segun-Babs on Fm on Our People's FM Ado Ekiti, Ile-Alayo on BSES Ado Ekiti. An active member of the noble Association FIBAN Ondo State Chapter.
Ambassador Dr.Babayemi Segun-Babs is the Chief Executive Officer of Ile-alayo Estate and Director of Ilealayotv and Radio. He is happily married to Kemisola with 3 lovely kids.
