#OwoAttack: Sola Fabunmi Condemns Killings, Urges Swift Arrest of Perpetrators

..... Commiserates with the families of the victims

An Akure-born entrepreneur and US-based RCCG Pastor, Sola Fabunmi, has condemned the attack on worshipers at St. Francis' Catholic Church, Owo by unsuspected assailants. He said the attack is triggered by religious beliefs as claimed in many news and is a sign of ignorance of the knowledge of God by the perpetrators.

Recall that on 5 June 2022, a mass shooting occurred at St Francis' Catholic church, Owo in Ondo State, killing at least and leaving another 40 injured.

Fabunmi described the attack as unfortunate and a sign of how people have detached from the plans of God for humanity. He said security agencies should work to bring the culprits to book.

"The world must find its way back to God. It was an attack on everyone that believe in God, irrespective of religious lines because God has no religion. God, who created us in his image did not create man to be irrational in thought because God is not irrational. Whoever can kill another human like him is not in tune with the reality of creation. We must do more to reorientate the mind to know our reason for being here on earth. We are here to live in peace and harmony" Fabunmi said.

The President, of Miracle Valley Ministry, also said "the lives lost are irreplaceable but we must continue to pray for them while we show affection to those still living to heal them of both their physical and mental injuries"

Fabunmi, who condoled with the Olowo of Ọwọ, Oba Ajibade Gbadegeshin Ogunoye, also commiserated with the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu. He expressed sympathy to the families of those that lost their lives to the unfortunate incident and prayed for the repose of their souls.

“I wish to commiserate with the government of Ondo State led by Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu. We followed the events here in the USA. We love the exemplary leadership he displayed, and also appreciate him for rising to the support of the victims and always speaking out in the face of intimidation.” The Pastor said.

He also commiserated with St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo, saying the body of Christ is in solidarity with them through these trying times and urged residents to be vigilant and be ready to assist security operatives by reporting any suspicious activities around them.

"We at City of Faith RCCG, Gaithersburg Maryland, USA, are praying with the leadership and parishioners of St. Francis and the entire Catholic Diocese of Ondo at this time, trusting that the Lord will heal his Church.

"Security people can only do little if the public will not cooperate with them. People must be ready to help them with intelligence gathering by sharing helpful information about suspicious activities around their dwellings" Fabunmi said.
