A former vice-chancellor of the University of Ibadan has shared the story of the miracle that saved his life and that of his wife. In his interview with Alexander Okere on Punch Online News, Prof. Olufemi Bamiro revealed how his attackers panicked and fled the crime scene after the unusual event.
Prof. Bamiro shared his ordeal by saying, “My wife told them they could not kill us because we were children of God.” One of the gunmen tried to pull the trigger out of anger, but the gun fell apart. It was nothing more than a miracle. They began to panic as soon as this happened. The person who attempted to shoot told the others to get out of the way. It wasn’t until later that I discovered the blood on my leg.
He continued, “The bullet struck me but did not penetrate my bone; it simply entered and exited.” By the time we arrived at the University College Hospital in Ibadan, the doctor told me that I was fortunate. It was nothing short of a miracle. People, on the other hand, are predictable. Some said, “Ah, he is an Ijebu man and he used juju.” Thanks to my wife’s audacity, she saved the day.
