The babies, two boys and a girl, weighing 1.9kg, 2.5kg and 2.6kg respectively, belong to a couple (name withheld) that had been seeking the face of God for a child for 14 years.
The Medical Director of the clinic and consultant in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Momoh Rafiu could not hold his joy, thanking the Almighty God for the great feat achieved and appreciating the medical team in attendance for the care of the triplets.
While confirming to The Hope that "the 44 years old mother and the three babies are in good condition", Dr. Rafiu revealed that the delivery process took about 45 minutes.
According to him, “Classic Specialist Clinic and Fertility Centre is the first IVF Centre in Akure that has recorded success in In Vitro Fertilization and Embryo Transfer (IVF + ET) with the delivery of triplets.
“The couple has been looking for the fruit of the womb for 14 years and here is a set of triplets from God (through us ) to compensate them. Glory be to God.
“I am very euphoric and I give glory to the Almighty God, who used our medical team as an arsenal that made the dreams of the couple come into reality".
The specialist in women fertility and other related health issues also appreciated his medical team for making the delivery a success.
He revealed that the specialist clinic, which started less than a year ago, had three more expectant mothers, who have been through the IVF, to deliver.
While urging couples seeking the fruit of the womb to embrace IVF, he stressed that the clinic would do its best, with the assistance of God, to put smiles on their faces.
