Ahead of the Ekiti 2022 governorship election, a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ekiti State, Senator Biodun Olujimi has declared her intention to participate in the 2022 governorship election in the state.

Declaring the intention at her ward seven, Omuo-Ekiti, Senator Olujimi said part of her decision to join the governorship race was to erase the myth that the seat was not meant to be occupied by women.

The Lawmaker who is currently representing Ekiti South Senatorial District added that her intention was to break the long time jinx in which the District had not produced a Governor since the state was created.

Senator Olujimi however suggested that all political parties in the state should pick their candidates from Ekiti South to ensure equity and fairness, as well as to give the people of the District sense of belonging.

Those who spoke at the event including a former Chairman of PDP in Ekiti State, Chief Gboyega Oguntuase also advocated the need to allow the people of the south to produce governor of the state.

The governorship aspirant used the avenue to inaugurate ward and local government Coordinators of Biodun Olujimi Movement across the state
