Akure Unrest: DSS Arrests Popular Adé Basket, 5 Others

The political unrest that eschewed within Akure metropolis on Saturday night and Sunday morning has been put under check by the Department of State Security Service (DSS).

A reliable source hinted Western Post that the popular Ade Basket was arrested with five others who were suspected to be working for a particular governorship candidate in the state, thereby, causing political unrest.

More so, the Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in the state, Mr Adebo, popularly known as Ìdájọ́, was said to have been on the run, hearing DSS raid in the state.

Ìdájọ́ was said to have been working and going around causing unnecessary unrest in the state capital.

It would be recalled that several people were injured on Saturday night and which eventually led to the death of a young man at the oke Jebu axis of the metropolis.

However, feelers said that, the continuation of the fraca again on Sunday morning must have prompted the men of the DSS to have clamped down on the trouble makers.

The whereabout of the NURTW Chairman was unknown as at the time of filing this report.
