ONDO 2020:Don't waste your money, PDP Bunmi Jenyo cautions Jegede

A former Southwest Secretary of the People's Democratic Party, Rev Bunmi Jenyo has advised the candidate of the party in Ondo State, Barrister Eyitayo Jegede not to waste his money on the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

The PDP leader said this during his visit to Osun PDP Central Senatorial in PDP State Secretariat at Biket Area, Osogbo in continuation of his re-election campaign.

Addressing his hosts, Jenyo reportedly said, "based on the fact and political situation in Ondo State, PDP candidate will come distance third after Agboola of Zenith Labour Party."
Dr Eddy Olafeso, Rev Bunmi Jenyo's ally, contested the PDP primary against Eyitayo Jegede. He lost the ticket to the legal luminary and their relationship had since remained disjointed.

An insider's account suggests that the statement was deliberately uttered to undermine the efforts of Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde who is the Chairman of PDP Campaign Committee for gubernatorial election.

The insider who confirmed that Eddy Olafeso and Rev Bunmi Jenyo are working against Gov Makinde's interest and PDP victory in Ondo State, enjoined the party faithful to ask Jenyo what he stands to gain from the prediction.

"Where did he get his prediction? Did his statement portray him as one of the stakeholders of PDP, is Rev Bunmi Jenyo now a MOLE in PDP? If PDP lose Ondo governorshp Election, Eddy Olafeso and Rev Bunmi Jenyo should be thoroughly interrogated, " the insider lamented while expressing shock and disbelief at the prediction of the former Zonal Secretary of the PDP.

He added, "opinion polls conducted before 2018 governorship election in Osun indicated that PDP would end up in 5th position during the September 22nd gubernatorial election. Contrary to the claim, PDP came 1st notwithstanding the doomsday prediction. So, today's prediction of Rev Jenyo, a supposed leader of the party, is not the final and by the grace of God, PDP will triumph in Ondo State."
