Former speaker of the Ondo state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jumoke Akindele has revealed her reasons for dumping the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) for the Zenith Labour Party(ZLP).
Jumoke Akindele, who was the first female speaker in the state Assembly said she joined the ZLP because of the unbearable level of sufferings in the state and the intolerable neglect of the people of Ondo South senatorial district.
The former speaker, who spoke at a declaration ceremony in Okitipupa local government area of the state was received into the Party by Ondo State deputy governor and the candidate of the ZLP, Hon. Agboola Ajayi.
Nigeriancablenewsonline.com reported that Jumoke’s new decision is coming only 25 days to the October 10 Governorship election in the state.
Her words:
”I am joining the ZLP because Ondo South Senatorial District has suffered so many setbacks in the areas of developmental achievements. We need a government that understands the pains and the agony that confronted the people of Ondo State at large.
”The level of sufferings in the state is unbearable and the neglect of the people of Ondo South is intolerable. I, therefore, decided to join forces with people of like minds for the actualisation of good things for the state at large and that of my people at the Southern District,” she said.
