A mild drama took place at Owode-Yewa Police Division near Idiroko in Ogun State when a village head (Baale), who was arrested for an incestuous act of sleeping with his biological daughter fainted and had to be rushed to a hospital by police detectives.
The Baale, Rasheed Sholabi had, at first, denied the allegation, unknown to him that her daughter, whom he had been sexually assaulting for four years running, was behind his arrest and, when made to confront by the girl, the village head fainted and had to be resuscitated in the hospital.
The 15-year-old victim (name withheld), it was gathered, walked into the police station and narrated her plight to the bewilderment of the officers.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi who though, failed to state the date of arrest in a press statement made available to Crime Puzzle, the girl complained that her father had been having sex with her since four years ago, when she was 11 years of age, adding that she now has difficulty controlling her urinary system.
Pathetically, the girl said further that she lost her mother at a tender age of two and that no relatives of her late mother does she know, whom she could run to when the randy Baale started playing funny on her haplessness.
"He cashed in on my mother's death to mess me up for four years, now I am battling a serious health challenge in my urinary system", the girl lamented.
The PPRO stated that, "Upon the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), SP Olabisi Elebute, quickly led her men to the scene where the Baale was promptly arrested, stating further that, "On interrogation, he first denied the allegation, but when he was confronted by the victim and one of his ex-wives, who corroborated the victim’s statement, the suspect fainted and was taken to the hospital, where he was resuscitated".
According to the release, "The Baale's ex-wife told the investigating officer (IPO) that, she decided to path ways with the randy village head when she caught him sleeping with the girl".
The release further hinted that the victim has been taken to Stella Obasanjo motherless baby home for safe-keeping and that the state Commissioner of Police, Edward A. Ajogun, had ordered the transfer of the suspect the to Anti-human Trafficking and Child Labor Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for in-depth investigation and diligent prosecution.
