The Nigeria Medical Association in Ondo state had debunk the news that the former chairman, Dr. Micheal Adeyeri of Shekinah Hospital die of COVID- 19 infection.
It was reported in many online platforms and some newspapers that Adeyeri died of COVID- 19 complication.
According to a statement issued by the state chairman of the NMA, Dr. Wale Oke, NMA said it was misleading to say that the late doctor died of COVID- 19.
The NMA chairman also faulted the report that the wife of the deceased Doctor contracted coronavirus from her late husband.
Oke, however said Dr. Adeyeri died of blood sugar complications.
He said, “It is untrue that Dr. Adeyeri died of COVID- 19 infection. So,it is wrong for anybody to say he died of coronavirus.
Oke said result of Dr. Adeyeri’s test after his demise showed that he tested negative to coronavirus.
