APC PRIMARIES : Segun Abraham endorses Nat Adojutelegan as Governship hopeful

The Ondo State APC governorship primary  contest took a new turn today being the eve of primary election  as an elder stakeholder  in the party and governorship aspirant endorsed , Dr Nathaniel Adojutelegan for the position.

The APC  National caretaker Working Committee had in a statement this week announced a primary mode of election for the governorship seat which would be elected through transparent democratic exercise.

Pastor Olusegun Abraham, his supporters and some  elders and leaders, in a communique , stated that “the decision to endorse Dr Nat Adojutelegan  was taken after consultation across the length and breadth of the state.” and having found him to be the only Akoko aspirant to make a wave ahead since the rotational zoning favours the north.

An elder, Chief  Odeyemi, who read the communiqué, said the step taken did not amount to imposition,

The communique added,  “We have only expressed our right to endorse our preferred candidate, which means other groups can also endorse their own as well.

“We have to say, however, that this endorsement by the elders and Segun Abraham  does not foreclose the right to participate, which means the race is still open.

“The elders are aware that other groups within the party have also endorsed their preferred candidates. We will meet them at the election ground We are not imposing candidates, we have only expressed our right. The party is one and after the primary , we shall remain one.”

Reacting to the endorsement, Dr Nat Adojutelegan, who said his endorsement  was to move the party forward, said, “We are not doing this to score any point, we are only looking for somebody who can manage our party, especially that the   sitting Governor is having issues with the party leaders .”.  And I do not intend to step down for anybody.
