Rite Foods Limited has expanded its beverage portfolio with the introduction of LIDA Malt Classic, a non-alcoholic malt drink positioned to give consumers another option in Nigeria’s competitive malt beverage market.
Built around the brand proposition, “LIDA Malt. Made for You,” the new product reflects the company’s focus on developing beverages that respond to consumer preferences and everyday consumption occasions.
The product was introduced to journalists and content creators during a media immersion programme at Rite Foods’ manufacturing facility in Ososa, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, on October 15, 2026. The programme offered participants an opportunity to learn about LIDA Malt Classic and gain insight into the company’s manufacturing operations.
Speaking at the event, Ekuma Eze, Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at Rite Foods, said the company remained committed to product development and delivering quality offerings to the Nigerian market. He noted that LIDA Malt was designed for everyday occasions, including meals, social gatherings and moments of refreshment.
Currently available in its Classic variant and packaged in polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles, LIDA Malt represents another addition to the company’s locally manufactured beverage offerings.
Rite Foods’ Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Seleem Adegunwa, said the launch reflected the company’s commitment to innovation and its efforts to respond to changing consumer expectations.
He added that the company would continue to explore opportunities to strengthen its portfolio with products built around quality, consumer relevance and distinctive brand propositions.
Toyin Nnodi, Head of Marketing at Rite Foods, said LIDA Malt was developed with consumers’ preferences and everyday experiences in mind.
“LIDA Malt was developed with the consumer in mind. We understand that people want quality products that fit their preferences and everyday routines. With LIDA Malt Classic, we are introducing an offering built around that understanding. Our ‘Made for You’ proposition reflects our commitment to keeping consumers at the heart of what we do,” Nnodi said.
LIDA Malt joins the company’s existing beverage brands, including Bigi Carbonated Soft Drinks, available in 13 variants; Bigi Premium Drinking Water; Sosa Fruit Drink, with five variants; and Fearless Energy Drink. Rite Foods also produces Rite Spicy Beef, Bigi Beef and Bigi Flex Sausages.
Beyond product development, the company highlighted its approach to energy management and sustainability during the factory tour. Eze said Rite Foods was pursuing cleaner and more efficient energy solutions to support productivity, sustainability and business continuity.
According to him, approximately 95 per cent of the company’s energy consumption comes from natural gas and solar power, while diesel accounts for the remaining five per cent.
“Our approach recognises the realities of industrial operations in Nigeria while deliberately pursuing cleaner, more efficient and more resilient energy solutions that support sustainability, productivity and business continuity,” Eze said.
With LIDA Malt Classic, Rite Foods is adding another product to its portfolio as it seeks to respond to consumer preferences in Nigeria’s food and beverage market.
