MultiChoice Nigeria has entered a new leadership chapter with the appointment of Kemi Omotosho as its Chief Executive Officer, succeeding long-serving CEO John Ugbe. Her appointment marks a strategic transition for the pay-TV and digital entertainment giant as it positions itself for sustained growth in Nigeria’s fast-evolving media landscape.
A seasoned executive with over two decades of experience spanning media, telecommunications, and digital services across Africa, Omotosho brings deep institutional knowledge and a strong customer-centric leadership philosophy to her new role. Her elevation reflects MultiChoice Group’s confidence in homegrown leadership with proven capacity to manage complexity, drive value, and deliver operational excellence.
Before her appointment, Omotosho held several senior leadership roles within the MultiChoice Group, both in Nigeria and across the Rest of Africa. She previously served as Executive Head, Customer Value Management (Nigeria), where she played a key role in strengthening subscriber engagement, reducing churn, and improving customer lifetime value. She later rose to become Group Executive Head, Customer Value Management for Rest of Africa, providing functional leadership across more than 50 markets.
Her leadership journey also includes serving as Regional Director, Southern Africa, where she had full profit-and-loss responsibility for a multi-country portfolio. In these roles, Omotosho led large, cross-functional teams and executed strategies focused on digital adoption, revenue optimisation, operational transformation, and customer experience enhancement.
Prior to joining MultiChoice, Omotosho built a solid foundation in customer service and operations at Computer Systems Associates, before moving to Airtel Nigeria, where she contributed to enterprise account management, postpaid customer retention, and revenue growth initiatives. These experiences shaped her strong grasp of customer behaviour, data-driven decision-making, and scalable business models.
Academically, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of Ilorin, a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from the Nigerian Institute of Management, and an Executive MBA from Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University. Her educational background complements her hands-on leadership style and strategic thinking.
As CEO, Omotosho will oversee MultiChoice Nigeria’s overall business strategy, operations, stakeholder engagement, and market positioning. She is expected to deepen customer relationships, strengthen local content development, and reinforce the company’s role in supporting Nigeria’s creative and digital economy.
Her appointment not only underscores continuity but also signals a renewed focus on customer value, innovation, and sustainable growth, positioning MultiChoice Nigeria to remain a dominant force in Africa’s entertainment ecosystem.
