No fewer than 300 widows and elderly women drawn from Ijare, Igbara-Oke and Ilara-Mokin zones of Ifedore Local Government Area, Ondo State, have benefitted from food items, cash support and household essentials in a humanitarian outreach organised by Dr Seun Osamaye, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development.
The empowerment programme was held under the 2026 edition of “Give Back A Portion”, tagged “Praise and Thanksgiving Edition,” an annual outreach initiative sustained by Dr Osamaye and her family.
The event, which attracted women from different communities across the local government, commenced with praise and worship, followed by a brief exhortation by Pastor Gideon Adegboye, who urged the beneficiaries to remain hopeful, steadfast and grateful to God despite life’s challenges.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Dr Osamaye disclosed that the outreach programme has been sustained for over a decade, adding that this year marked the seventh edition specifically dedicated to widows and vulnerable women in Ifedore Local Government.
She explained that the initiative was born out of a deep passion to give back to society and provide relief for women facing economic and social hardship.
According to her, the supportive and enabling environment provided by Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s administration has further strengthened her resolve and capacity to touch more lives, describing the governor’s commitment to social welfare as commendable.
Dr Osamaye expressed appreciation to the Governor for the opportunity to serve in his administration and assured that the outreach would continue to grow in scope and impact.
“I am grateful to God and to His Excellency, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for the platform to serve humanity. This programme will not stop here; by God’s grace, it will continue to grow stronger and reach more vulnerable women across our communities,” she said.
Also speaking at the event, a representative of the Osamaye family, Kokere Olabode, commended Dr Osamaye for her dedication to family values and her unwavering commitment to the welfare of women in Ifedore Local Government and Ondo State at large.
Several beneficiaries expressed deep appreciation for the timely intervention, describing the gesture as a major relief amid prevailing economic challenges.
They offered prayers for God’s continued strength for Dr Osamaye and the success of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration, while pledging their support for government programmes aimed at improving the welfare of women, widows and other vulnerable groups in the state.
