The Nigeria Police Force has announced the promotion of its Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP).
In a statement released by the Force Headquarters, Adejobi’s elevation comes with a new posting as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, Delta State Command.
Adejobi, who has served as the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), is widely regarded for his reforms in police communication and public engagement. Under his watch, the Force strengthened its digital presence, provided timely information to the public, and improved transparency in addressing sensitive issues.
Police authorities expressed confidence that Adejobi’s deployment to Delta, a state with complex security challenges, will enhance operational efficiency and community policing. His new role will require coordinating responses to crimes such as oil theft, kidnapping, and cult-related violence.
Adejobi, a seasoned officer with years of experience in operations and public relations, has previously held several command and administrative positions across the Force. His promotion, according to observers, reflects recognition of his dedication and professional contributions to policing in Nigeria.
