Interswitch Group, Africa’s leading technology company dedicated to enabling prosperity through innovative solutions, recently hosted a delegation of Executive MBA students from the University of Cambridge Judge Business School (CJBS) at its headquarters in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The delegation’s visit formed part of the school’s student-led Nigeria Trek, designed to provide participants with first-hand exposure to the dynamics of doing business in Africa. The engagement highlighted Interswitch’s 23-year journey from a pioneering transaction switch to a diversified technology leader powering Africa’s digital payments infrastructure and advancing financial inclusion across the continent.
Speaking during the session, Mitchell Elegbe, Founder and Group Managing Director of Interswitch Group, stressed the importance of knowledge exchange and cross-border collaboration in building sustainable enterprises:
“It is an honour to welcome the CJBS 2025 delegation to Interswitch. Beyond showcasing our story, this engagement provides an avenue for candid conversations about Africa’s payments ecosystem, its unique opportunities, and the innovations shaping the future. Hosting this distinguished delegation is not only a chance to share our journey but also a platform to engage with the next generation of global business leaders. Interactions like this foster mutual learning, broaden perspectives, and spotlight the transformative potential of African innovation on the global stage.”
The interactive session provided the students with deeper insights into how Interswitch builds collaborative solutions across sectors while maintaining the robust systems that power seamless digital transactions across Africa.
Also speaking at the event, Oremeyi Akah, Chief Customer Officer at Interswitch, underscored the company’s commitment to operational excellence, strong governance, and sustainable growth. Welcoming the delegation alongside the leadership team was Cherry Eromosele, Executive Vice President, Group Marketing and Communications.
The visit follows Elegbe’s earlier courtesy call to Cambridge Judge Business School this year, during which collaborative opportunities were explored, further strengthening Interswitch’s relationship with the world-renowned institution.
Members of the CJBS delegation described the engagement as an invaluable opportunity to see how an African-born company has grown into a continental technology leader, while also deepening their understanding of Africa’s innovation ecosystem and business environment.
This visit reaffirms Interswitch’s position as a trailblazer in Africa’s digital economy and highlights the growing value of academic-industry partnerships in shaping the future of global business and innovation.
