UNITY BANK CHAMPIONS GENDER EQUITY WITH IWD WEBINAR, CALLS FOR ACCELERATED ACTION

Unity Bank Plc has reaffirmed its commitment to women’s empowerment through a series of high-impact initiatives designed to inspire action toward gender equality and sustainable development.

As part of its International Women’s Day (IWD) 2025 celebrations, the Unity Bank Women Network hosted a webinar themed "Unleashing Women’s Potential." The event served as a platform to discuss self-reliance, opportunity, and equity, featuring a distinguished lineup of female leaders, including: Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi – Nigerian entrepreneur and media personality. Oluwabusayo Adegoke – Certified life coach and strategy consultant

The speakers shared invaluable insights on women’s leadership, financial inclusion, and breaking barriers in male-dominated industries, providing professionals, entrepreneurs, and young women with practical strategies for personal and professional growth.

Unity Bank also celebrated women making significant contributions to their communities, particularly those championing change through education, mentorship, and financial empowerment. Among them were: Abisoye Ajayi-Akinfolarin – A tech trailblazer empowering girls through technology. Tejumoluwa Olaobaju – An advocate leading the fight against period poverty and Chioma Ohakwe – A champion of inclusivity, equipping girls and women with critical skills
