Black Thursday as the family of the late former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has been thrown into mourning following the passing of his eldest daughter, Bisola Kola-Daisi. The tragic news broke early Thursday morning, confirming that she succumbed to a brief illness while in the United Kingdom. She was 42 years old.
Bisola, a well-known entrepreneur and public servant, was the Managing Director of Grandex Nigeria Ltd., a leading retail and wholesale chain. She was also the founder of Florence H. LuxurBoutiqueue, establishing herself as a prominent figure in Nigeria’s luxury retail industry.
Beyond her business ventures, she played an active role in public service as a Special Adviser to the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu. Her contributions to economic development and women's empowerment earned her widespread recognition in both the private and public sectors.
Bisola was married to Kolapo Kola-Daisi, a bank executive and politician from Ibadan, with whom she had three children. In a statement, her husband described her as "a shining star whose impact will continue to be felt through her legacy."
Tributes have poured in from friends, colleagues, and associates, who remember her for her intelligence, generosity, and commitment to excellence. Her sudden passing is a great loss to both the business and political communities in Nigeria.
The Ajimobi family is yet to announce funeral arrangements, as they come to terms with this heartbreaking loss.
