Ẹ̀GBÁLIGANZA – SETTING THE STAGE FOR A $1 BILLION CULTURAL AND ECONOMIC REVOLUTION

Before every great movement, there is a moment where vision meets the world. On March 11, 2025, the Ẹ̀gbáliganza Press Conference took center stage at the Erelu Yeye Oodua Renaissance Centre, setting the foundation for what promises to be a historic cultural event.

Hosted by the Lai Labode Heritage Foundation, with the Lisabi Committee and the Egba Legacy Network as key supporting partners, this press conference marked the unveiling of the grand vision behind Ẹ̀gbáliganza 2025.

More than just a gathering, this was a call to action—a declaration that Ẹ̀gbá culture, fashion, and heritage are not just to be remembered but to be lived and transformed into a thriving economic force. The event brought together distinguished stakeholders, industry experts, and cultural custodians, all sharing the mission of redefining heritage through innovation, creativity, and enterprise.

A major highlight of the press conference was the unveiling of the $1 billion fashion and textile market value chain that Ẹ̀gbáliganza aims to establish. This initiative will focus on reviving and globalizing the adire and indigenous fabric industry through structured training programs, business support, and international partnerships. By equipping artisans, designers, and textile entrepreneurs with modern tools and access to larger markets, Ẹ̀gbáliganza is positioning Ẹ̀gbáland as a global hub for authentic African fashion.

According to Chief Lai Labode Osi Apagun PhD, the visionary behind Ẹ̀gbáliganza, this project is more than just an economic venture. "This is about legacy. It is about ensuring that the skills, traditions, and craftsmanship of the Ẹ̀gbá people do not fade away. We are building an industry that will not only celebrate our past but also secure our future."

The Road to Ẹ̀gbáliganza 2025: Bigger, Bolder, and More Impactful

With the success of Ẹ̀gbáliganza 2024, which received overwhelming positive feedback, the 2025 edition has been designed to be even more grand. Stakeholders at the press conference shared insights into what attendees should expect:

A larger, more immersive cultural showcase, featuring fashion exhibitions, music, dance, and art installations.

Business empowerment sessions, connecting local entrepreneurs with international opportunities.

The launch of structured training programs for artisans, enabling them to scale their craft beyond Nigeria.

A prestigious runway event celebrating the evolution of Yoruba fashion.

The unveiling of the Egba Legacy Network’s 2025 theme: Walk Way of Kings, a powerful representation of heritage and prestige.

Chief Yemi Lawal, Chairman of Ẹ̀gbáliganza, highlighted the deep connection between this event and the iconic Lisabi Festival. "Ẹ̀gbáliganza is not just an event; it is a bridge between our proud past and our ambitious future. It complements the Lisabi Festival by adding a contemporary layer to our heritage, ensuring that the world sees not just where we come from but also where we are going."

The press conference concluded with an electrifying moment as stakeholders and guests joined in a spirited dance, symbolizing unity, celebration, and the anticipation of the grand event ahead.

With the energy from this launch, all eyes are now on Ẹ̀gbáliganza 2025, scheduled for April 5, 2025, in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The countdown has begun, and the world is invited to witness history in the making.
