GLO’S FESTIVAL OF JOY PROMO REACHES IBADAN, REWARDS WINNERS WITH CARS AND OTHER PRIZES
Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, was filled with excitement as Globacom rewarded winners in its ongoing Festival of Joy promo, with two lucky subscribers driving home brand-new Kia Picanto cars. Several other participants also received prizes, including power generators, sewing machines, and grinding machines.
One of the car winners, Mr. Adeola Olatayo Silas, a quantity surveyor, was left speechless when he saw his new car. Overwhelmed with joy, he repeatedly exclaimed, "Wow, wow!" before expressing his gratitude to Globacom. He shared that he had always been a loyal Glo subscriber and had hoped to win a prize in one of its promos.The second car winner, Mr. Seun Okeowo, a media practitioner, also expressed his delight. He revealed that he had long wished to win in the Festival of Joy promo and prayed for more success for Globacom in its mission to spread happiness across Nigeria.
Other winners included Pastor Oluwole Abayomi, an Akure resident who won a power generator. Initially skeptical when he received the call, he admitted, "My brother warned me to be cautious, thinking it might be a scam or a kidnapping attempt." However, upon confirming the authenticity, he rejoiced and prayed for the company’s continued success.
A sewing machine winner, Oluwole Babatunde Olusegun, a teacher from Ibadan, said the prize would benefit his family. “This will help my wife and children learn fashion designing. My next target is to win a car,” he said. Similarly, Waheed Azeez, a trailer driver who won a grinding machine, shared that his wife would use it to start a small business.
The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Lawal, who graced the event as the Special Guest, commended Globacom for its commitment to empowering Nigerians. “Globacom is not just attracting customers but also giving back to them. This brand is a pride of Nigeria and Africa,” he stated, urging other companies to emulate Glo’s goodwill.
Speaking on the promo mechanics, Globacom’s Head of Business, West, Mr. Abdulazak Ande, encouraged subscribers to participate by dialing 611#, opting into the promo, and recharging to qualify for various prizes. He added that new subscribers could join by purchasing and registering a new SIM before dialing 611#.
The event was attended by representatives of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), led by Engr. Akinwale Akanbi, as well as several entertainment stars, including Seyi Law, Odunlade Adekola, Tunde Usman (Okele), Bimbo Thomas, Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi, and content creator Kiekie.
