The Anambra State Government has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Hon. Justice Azuka, a distinguished member of the Anambra State House of Assembly representing Onitsha North State Constituency I.
In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, the government extended its condolences to the Speaker and members of the State House of Assembly, the late lawmaker’s family, his constituents, and the people of Anambra, praying for his soul to rest in peace.
The government also commended the swift and effective response of security agencies in apprehending those responsible for Hon. Justice Azuka’s death. The statement emphasized that the prompt arrest of the culprits reaffirms Governor Charles Soludo’s unwavering commitment to the safety of all residents and highlights the effectiveness of the newly launched security task force, Operation Udo Ga-Achi. Since its inauguration on January 18, 2025, the task force has recorded several successful operations against criminal elements in the state.
The Anambra State Government assured the public that swift justice will be served against those responsible for the tragic incident, including their accomplices.
Furthermore, the government reiterated its call for public cooperation in supporting security agencies to maintain a safe and crime-free Anambra State.
