OGWASHI-UKU KINGDOM DEBUNKS DEFAMATORY PUBLICATION AGAINST MONARCH

The Ogwashi-Uku Kingdom has denounced a recent defamatory online publication targeting the kingdom's ruler, His Majesty, the Obi of Ogwashi-Uku. The publication alleged the monarch was involved in land-grabbing, arming squads, and a past overseas conviction, which palace authorities assert are baseless accusations aimed at tarnishing his reputation.

A statement from Prince Ifeakanachukwu Emordi, the Palace Secretary, labeled the claims as part of a targeted smear campaign by individuals facing serious criminal charges themselves. The statement highlighted that Barrister Mayor Okolie and Elumunor Adigwe, accused of terrorism and inciting violence against the Obi, are among the main figures behind the publication.

Further, the palace clarified that the Obi, a respected academic with a Doctorate in Economics and History, remains focused on fostering peace and progress within the Ogwashi-Uku community. The statement affirmed that legal action will be pursued to counter the false claims and reaffirmed the monarch’s commitment to transparency and lawfulness.
