EXCLUSIVE: AFTER 2 YEARS, YUSUPH DONA KEHINDE CRY OUT, SAYS MY LIFE IS NOT SAFE HERE

Yusuph Dona Kehinde is the twin Sister to Mrs. Taiwo Fayemi wife of Alhaji (Chief) Afeez Olugbenga Fayemi whose property was burnt down on March 10th, 2024 by some hoodlum who is after her life, her sister’s life and her family. In this interview with our Reporter, Yusuph speaks on her life-threatening issues.

Tell us about your relationship with Chief Afeez Olugbenga Fayemi

Thank you, My relationship with Chief Afeez Olugbenga Fayemi is beyond in-laws, we relate like families. Chief is a prominent politician and a traditionalist who is based in the Badagry area of Lagos state. He is a prominent member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and he was nominated by the Leader of his party to represent them in the 2023 Lagos State House of Assembly elections. He was the PA / Spokesman to the monarch and paramount ruler in Badagry Town. Chief Azeez Olugbenga Fayemi is married to my twin sister, Taiwo Fayemi. She had 6 children for him, they are Fayemi Biliqees Oyindamola, Fayemi Mojeed Olayiwola, Fayemi Quadri Gbolahan, Fayemi Mbarak Gbadebo, Fayemi Ibraheem Aderomola, Fayemi Innayat Maupego. Though she is not the only wife, Chief is also married to Hotonu Rita Idowu mother of Fayemi Abdul-Samad. His other children are Fayemi Teslim Okikiola, Fayemi Amirat Afolashade, Fayemi Birat Adejoke, and Fayemi Yusph Nifemi. He was a very caring man who despite his busy schedule always created time for his family. In 2020 before the outbreak of Covid 19, my sister informed me that they were all going on vacation but due to the pandemic the trip was postponed until April 2022 which is the genesis of my problem. 

How?

It’s a long story, whoever knows Chief Afeez Olugbenga Fayemi will tell you that he does not joke with his family and he always makes time for them despite working round the clock. As I said, their 2020 vacation trip came to fulfilment in April 2022 and they were all excited we all countdown to April 8th, 2022 including my sister and her children made the trip to the United States and they landed at George Bush International Airport United States on 9th of April, proceeded by road to Austin Texas for their ten day’s vacation. The children were happy to have their father around them until precisely 4 days to the end of their vacation and Taiwo’s husband Chief Olugbenga Afeez Fayemi called her and the other wife Idowu Rita Hotonu to inform them that he got an urgent call and he needed to fly back to Nigeria in the next two days for an important meeting.

   All efforts made by my sister and the second wife to convince him to stay since they had a few days left to leave were turned down By telling them this was a big opportunity for him and as a politician and traditionalist he was very reserved, you hardly know his moment, and won't tell them what the meeting was all about. According to my sister, he persuaded them and made them see the reasons he needed to attend the meeting back home as a big opportunity for him and his ambition in the general election and due to his role as PA/Spokesman to the monarch and Paramount ruler in Badagry town, after several persuasions, his wives agreed to let him go for his meeting with the hope of joining him in a few days. But the reverse was the case and that was the beginning of our problem. On his arrival to Nigeria, Alhaji was kidnapped by unknown gunmen, one of his daughters Fayemi Amirat Afolashade fell sick and was rushed to an emergency hospital and she was later transferred to Dell Children's Hospital Texas, where she was diagnosed with Acute Leukemia. While they were still battling with that some unknown hoodlums attacked, and vandalized  Alhaji’s house, my sister's family's life was under serious threats, and this made his family stay back in the US. My younger brother Semasa that were staying with them had to run for his life.

Why are they after your life?

After the attack on Alhaji's property and his kidnapped, we heard that the attack had a political undermining because after Alhaji returned to Nigeria, they sneaked after him until they kidnap Alhaji and the taxi driver that picked him up, he was in their kidnap den for 3 days until he escaped and call his wife, Taiwo. According to her, she said, at around 4:00 am, she got a call from an unknown number and to her surprise, it was her husband Alhaji Afeez Fayemi, whom they had been missing for 48 hours after arriving in Nigeria All he quickly said a shaky voice was: saying “I was kidnapped but I able to escaped into one village I don't know, please don't come to Nigeria for now and take care of the children” and he hung up. At then my brother was living with them and when his building was attacked, he had to run for his life and the security man Mallam Abdul was injured. After all that happened, my sister and children had to stay back in the US before she and her children moved to Canada. Alhaji's second wife Idowu Hotonu had to stay back in the US because of the severity of Amira's sickness who is still at the hospital, and her son Abdul Samad Adeoye Fayemi also stayed back to assist with care for Amirat Fayemi. On 26th of November,2022 my cousin Moses Ogungbe was burnt to demise in his house thinking Alhaji Afeez Fayemi was hiding in his house. In all this, Alhaji Afeez Fayemi had to hide for his safety,  We thought all was over until March this year when I was receiving threatening calls from unknown callers and before I knew what was happening my properties were burned down and destroyed.  And I have been running from one place to another for my safety and my sister's life is not safe.  

Where is Alhaji now?

No one knows where he is, Alhaji has gone into hiding since the attack on him and his family. I hope he is safe because if they could do this to me thinking I hid Alhaji in my house then none of us is safe right now.
