EXIT OF A RARE MONARCH: FORMER LAGOS CP AND THE ELEMURE OF EMURE EKITI, OBA EMMANUEL ADEBAYO JP JOINS HIS ANCESTORS

The Elemure of Emure-Ekiti, Alayeluwa Oba Emmanuel Adebowale Adebayo, the Atayerobiagogo Aminmin III of Emure Ekiti, Nigeria, FCIA, JP, has passed away. 



The traditional ruler joined his ancestors on Thursday 30th May, 2024 in Lagos after a brief illness. Oba Adebayo was enthroned in 2008 and was a direct descendant of the Late Oba Simeon Aminmin II, who reigned in Emure Ekiti from 1953-1963. Alayeluwa Oba Emmanuel Adebayo reigned for  16 years (2008-2024).

Confirming his death in a statement signed by Prof. W. A. Adebayo on behalf of the family on Monday, he said Oba Emmanuel Adebayo died in Lagos after a brief illness. The statement reads:

NOTICE OF TRANSITION TO GLORY

With gratitude to the Almighty God and total submission to the will of God, we the entire members of the Adebayo family of the Adumori Ruling House, Emure-Ekiti wish to announce the transition to the glory of our esteemed and revered monarch, Oba Emmanuel Adebowale Adebayo, Atayerobiagogo, Aminmin III, Elemure of Emure-Ekiti.

We are aware of your unflinching support to His Royal Majesty throughout his reign as the traditional ruler of the Emure-Ekiti kingdom, and for this, we wish to thank you for this immeasurable support.

The programme for the celebration of life being prepared by the family in which you are to play vital roles will be communicated to you very soon.

The immediate family earnestly covets your prayers and all-round support towards the celebration. Once more, we appreciate you and pray that the peace of God will continue to reign in Emure-Ekiti kingdom, Ekiti State and Nigeria."

Alayeluwa Oba Emmanuel Adebayo, an esteemed traditional ruler and former Commissioner of Police. He served as the  Commissioner of Police in States such as Lagos State, Edo States and Abuja, where he was at the helm of affairs. His numerous heroic deeds will forever remain evergreen in the states of the entire Emure sons and daughters.
