SECURITY CONCERNS: CP IDOWU MEETS STRATEGIC COMMANDERS

The Lagos State Command, Commissioner of Police, CP Idowu Owohunwa, called a meeting of all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, Tactical Commanders, and other strategic officers on Thursday, July 27, 2023 in response to recent agitations by some residents of Lagos State regarding complaints of the resurgence of traffic robberies and other disturbances security issues. 

At the meeting, CP Owohunwa unequivocally warned all DPOs against neglecting their responsibilities and vowed that any officer found to be at fault will be dealt with in accordance with established procedures. He also tasked them with reviewing their individual security architecture in order to enhance security in their particular AORs and entirely eradicate all forms of traffic robbery and other vices. 

To further consolidate this stance, the CP has launched a state-wide operation designed to identify exact trouble spots, especially along construction areas, and flush out criminals, particularly traffic robbers and other miscreants. The operation code named Operation Flush commences with immediate effect. 

In the same vein, the CP has urged residents and visitors to Lagos State to continue to support the police in the task of fighting crime and criminality by providing prompt information and giving all forms of assistance required of them. 

Meanwhile, CP Owohunwa has assured Lagosians that the Lagos State Police Command would continue to partner with the government and other stakeholders towards ensuring optimum safety and security for all and sundry.
