The Freelance Independent Broadcasters Association Of Nigeria, Ondo State Chapter has expressed displeasure over the current challenges and hardships people are currently facing over the scarcity of the naira and old naira note rejection by the bank.
In a Press Release signed by the chairman of the Freelance Independent Broadcasters Association Of Nigeria, Ondo State Chapter, Comrade Oluwafemi Oguntuase joined well-meaning Nigerian to condemn the way some banks refused to accept deposits of old notes in Akure despite the Supreme Court’s Order and the advice of the Council of States that such notes should not be rejected. He said, the Naira Re-design Exercise, the cashless policy of the CBN and the Old Naira Note rejection has crumbled the economy and social activities in the country.
He stated this, during the Valentine's Day celebration, which he tagged “Valentine's Day Horrible”, he said, the situation in the country is becoming unpleasant, as nobody is left out on the untold hardship.
While calling on members of the public to continue to be law-abiding and patient with the current situation, he appeals to the security agencies to ensure adequate security of life and properties during this period. As he applauds them for their quick intervention in the safety of life and property in the last couple of weeks.
Femi Oguntuase urged the Federal Government, the Central Bank of Nigeria and the state governments to urgently find a lasting solution to the naira scarcity. He appreciates the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN CON) for his doggedness and efforts at ensuring that he is always at the forefront in upholding the rule of law and giving priority to the welfare of the citizens of Ondo State.
He wished all Ondo State citizens more prosperous “Valentine Celebrations”.
