News: Yinka Ayefele mourns, loses right–hand man, David Ajiboye

It's was indeed a black Sunday for the management of Fresh FM, an Ibadan based radio station owned by popular Nigerian gospel singer, Yinka Ayefele on Sunday as they announced the death of one of its top management staff, David Ajiboye.

The news of his demise came as a rude shock to many of his friends and fans who describe the him as a man full of life. 

In a statement signed by, Samson Akindele, who spoke on behalf of the media outfit, said his death has affected Fresh FM’s operations

"With heavy heart, the Management and Staff of Fresh FM Nigeria and Merry Makers Band, announce the sudden and sad demise of our Station Manager at Fresh 106.9 FM, Ado Ekiti, Mr. David Ajiboye.

Mr. Ajiboye died this Sunday (August 8, 2021) evening at an Ibadan – based hospital after a brief illness which lasted for a few days.

Mr. Ajiboye was a foundation member of the music arm of Yinka Ayefele Limited as the Publicist to Dr. Yinka Ayefele and the Merry Makers Band.

He was a prominent person who assisted Dr. Yinka Ayefele as a partner and later as a management staff member of Fresh 105.9 FM, Ibadan from the ideation period to fruition in 2015.

We are indeed devastated by this sad event which has also affected our operations. Kind bear with us at this trying time".

According to source close to Ayefele said the man died after a surgery carried out on him. He was said to have been involved in an accident two weeks ago but could not survive after surgery.

Late David Ajiboye was a frontline entertainment Journalist and staff of Fresh FM until his death. He was a close confidant of Tungba Gospel Musician, Mr Yinka Ayefele untill his demise on Sunday was the head of Fresh FM Ado Ekiti. He hails from Okemesi Ekiti. He worked as an entertainment journalist with Nigerian Tribune newspaper before he joined fresh Fm. He was also a former state chairman Entertainment Writers Association of Nigeria EWAN in oyo state.
