HOW AMOTEKUN BURSTS ORGAN HARVESTING SYNDICATE, RESCUES KIDNAPPED BOY IN AKURE

On Sunday 22nd August, 2021 families, friends and well wishers gathered at the pharmacy house, Alagbaka Akure, Ondo state to celebrate the newly elected zonal executive members of Akure/Ifedore zone of Gospel Musician Associations of Nigeria (GOMAN), Ondo state chapter on their induction and swearing-in as 6th executive officers of the zone led by Deacon Shalom Olumide Falegan.

Personalities including members of GOMAN, Elders of GOMAN and GOMAN Governor, Her Excellency, Evang. Dr. Mercy Alayoige were among other dignitaries present at the swearing in of Deacon Shalom Olumide Falegan, the immediate past Deputy Chairman and the current GOMAN Chairman of Akure / Ifedore zone.

In his welcome address, the GOMAN Governor, Her Excellency, Evang. Dr. Mercy Alayoige congratulated the new Exco and advised them to work as a team in other to achieve collective goals for the association and also to lead GOMAN Akure / Ifedore zone to an enviable height. 

She said they should ensure their praises is unto God and to God alone. She went further to describe their victory as the choice of the people.

She prayed for the New EXCO to excel and make positive impacts both in the society and on individual members of the association.

Also the outgoing Chairperson, Evang.

 While handing over, the outgoing Chairperson, Evang. Helen Oyeyemi congratulated the new chairman who happens to be her deputy and its executive members on their victory during the election, as she challenged them to always have the interest of the association at heart and also cooperate and support the leadership. 

She also used the opportunity to reel-off her achievements as the helmsman of the association.

Evang. Helen Oyeyemi once served as the acting chairperson between 2016 and 2017. She contested and won the 2018 Akure / Ifedore zone, the position she occupied till February 2021.

Deacon Olumide Shalom Falegan in his acceptance speech expressed heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to God almighty for His Mercy and Grace that makes the “dream come true”. 

He applauded the outgoing chairperson, Evang. Helen Oyeyemi and her executives for their contributions to the association during their tenure. 

In his words, “let us remind ourselves that it is not so much a victory of one over another but a celebration of our collective resolve to deepen and sustain the goals of this association in the zonal an state level. I can only say let us not relax as this is only the beginning of our long journey”.

Shalom Olumide Falegan defeated Evang Abiola Omonla with 17 votes. Falegan scored 46 vote against Salami's 29 votes.
