ONDO 2020: ELECTION SHOULDN'T BE A 'DO OR DIE' AFFAIR, SAYS OGIDAN

Politicians and  their political parties in Ondo State have been commended for the peaceful mode and manner their party primaries were conducted recently.

The coordinator of a socio-political group, The lntegrity Elite, (TIE), Mr Lanre Ogidan who gave the commendation in Akure the Ondo state capital, on Tuesday, stressed that election in any party of the world shouldn't be a 'do or die' affair since it is meant for the development and better living for humanity.

Ogidan, while describing the peaceful conducts and successful party primaries and emergence of candidates for the October 10, 2020 Ondo State Governorship Election as a practical demonstration of democracy in action;  advised political players and the people of Ondo State  to embrace and maintain peace before, during and after the election for meaningful development and true democracy to take place.

"Let me use this medium to commend and give kudos to all the governorship aspirants and members of People's Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) for resolving the crisis in their respective parties amicably, and elected candidates in most peaceful, fair and credible polls.

"And I am also pleading to all political players, including politicians and electorate to take a step further towards  pursuing genuine peaceful election."

Ogidan therefore urged the unscrupulous elements in the state who are flaming the emblem of war and chaos towards the election to desist from such evil act, praying that God will never allow Ondo State to witness the kind of crisis that erupted across the state aftermath of the 1983 Governorship election of Late Pa. Adekunle Ajasin and Akin Omoboriowo UPN Vs. NPN saga.
