The long rivalry feud between Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and his deputy, Agboola Ajayi has been laid bare yesterday night after a mini drama ensued at the government house.
The drama which ensued between the deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi and Ondo commissioner of Police, Mr Salmi Bolaji, where he was denied exit from the government house ground at Alagbaka.
According to report, the commissioner of Police who acted on the order of Governor Akeredolu alleged that there was looting of government properties by the deputy governors aide.
Agboola Ajayi is believed to have finalized his moves to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to pursue his governorship ambition and wrestle it out with his boss in the forth coming October Ondo governorship election in the state.
The Commissioner of Police said Agboola was flagged down due to a protest letter brought to his office concerning the deputy governor’s alleged defection to another party on Monday.
” A letter was brought to my officie today concerning your intention of moving to another party, the CP said.”
Agboola however cautioned the CP to be mindful of his involvement in the state’s political affairs to avoid setting the state on fire because the people will use every means to resist oppression.
” If i am moving to another political party ,what’s the concern of the police in political affairs. Am moving because I have the liberty to do so and any attempt by the police to get involved is partisan, then they should be ready for the consequence, Agboola said. “
In this week, the political space in Ondo state will attract more public attention because of the alleged official decamping of Agboola to PDP and as the citizens are eagerly awaiting the next political move of Governor Akeredolu in the face of reality.
