PRESIDENT BUHARI AND OTHER'S MOURN LATE ALHAJI ORUNSOLU

......The Chief Imam of Egbaland
The Chairman, League of Imams in Ogun State and Chief Imam of Egbaland, Alhaji Liadi Orunsolu, has died. He died at old Kobiti area of Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, at 99 years of age.

He died at the early hours of Tuesday May 26 after a brief illness and successfully completion of the 2020 Ramadan fasting. Since his death was announced, top personalities had been mourning the great scholar.

President Muhammadu Buhari condoles with the government and people of Ogun State, as well as the family of Alhaji Liadi Orunsolu, the Chief Imam of Egbaland.

In his message the President salutes the life of piety and utmost submission to the will of Almighty Allah lived by the departed, who was also President-General of League of Imams and Alfas in Ogun State.

Noting that “He lived a long and qualitative life, devoted to the service of Allah,” President Buhari prays that “May he be bountifully rewarded, having completed his course.”

He also charges all those who mourn the deceased to derive challenge from his devout life, and seek to approximate same.

Also the former Governor of state and the senator representing Ogun Central Senatorial District, Senator Ibikunle Amosun in his condolence message posted on his social media page, he described the late Alhaji Orunsolu as a “respected religious leader and a renowned Islamic scholar.”

“The Chief Imam was an erudite Islamic scholar who was well versed in Islamic Religious Knowledge.

“He was a symbol of unity who rallied the Ummah in Egbaland as one indivisible entity during his lifetime.

“Alhaji Orunsolu maintained effective leadership as the Chief Imam of Egbaland and President of League of Imams and Alfas in Ogun State, whilst also provided wise counsel to the entire Rabittah in the entire Yorubaland, Edo and Delta States.”
The Senator prayed that Almighty Allah (SWT) will grant Imam Liadi Orunsolu Aljannah Firdaus, whilst giving his family and the entire Muslim Ummah, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

The Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Arc Olamilekan Adegbite, Tuesday, condoled with the Muslim community in Ogun State in his condolence message to the family and Muslims signed by the Special Adviser to the Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Ayodeji Adeyemi.

“The Honourable Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Arc. Olamilekan Adegbite sends his condolences to the Muslim community in Ogun state and Nigeria at large over the demise of Chief Imam of Egba land, Alhaji Sheikh Liadi Orunsolu, who passed away early this morning.

“Adegbite prays that God will comfort his family while commending his contributions to the development of Ogun State.”

The Honourable Minister notes, that the late Imam used his position to foster peace and help the downtrodden in the society.

“I worked with him for eight years while I was Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure in Ogun State.

“We worked on the Eid praying ground twice a year, during Eid-el-Fitr and Eid-el-Kabir.

“He was a gentle soul and always prayed for progress in Ogun State and Nigeria in general.

“May Allah forgives him and grants him Aljannah Firdaus aamin”, he prayed
