NAWOJ LAGOS LAUNCHES OFFICIAL WEBSITE

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Lagos Chapter, has officially launched its website — a milestone that underscores the association’s commitment to accessibility, innovation, and digital visibility.

The launch took place during the maiden Congress of the association under the current executive committee, led by Comrade Jumoke Falayi Johnson, who assumed office just over a month ago.

In her remarks, Comrade Johnson described the launch as a product of teamwork and collective effort. She expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed content to the website, especially past Chairpersons of NAWOJ Lagos, applauding their support and the foundation they laid for the association’s growth.

“The website boasts easy landing pages, attractive features, and will serve as a window to the world — a channel for interaction, a platform to preserve the history of NAWOJ Lagos, and a showcase for our activities and planned events,” she said.

The official unveiling was performed by former Chairperson of the association, Dr. Adeola Ekine, supported by Comrade Tosin Odusola and Comrade Queen Ugeh.

According to Dr. Ekine, “NAWOJ Lagos should have had an official website long ago, but several factors made it impossible. This project has been a long time coming, and its realization today is a reflection of the new momentum Comrade Johnson and her team have brought to the association.”

Other members at the event commended the initiative, noting that the website will significantly enhance the association’s visibility and impact.

This development marks a major step forward for NAWOJ Lagos in promoting professional excellence, advocating for gender equality in media organizations, and creating mentorship and capacity-building opportunities for young female journalists.
